It’s almost the season and we are already jolly. Festive holiday shopping spree has already begun and we are all already planning our New years outfits and Christmas eve dresses. Too early? Never!
Being a little overdressed is never the issue when it comes to holiday dressing. These season attires are all about stepping out of your comfort zone and standing out from the crowd. It is the time when everybody pulls out all the shiny dresses and festive sweaters with all sorts of sequence and colours.
Queue the bows and glitter to match all the red that seems to all of a sudden pop up out of everyone’s closet (that you never even knew they owned). Sure it’s that time of the year, it’s the holliest, jolliest, best-est time, but does it have to be cliche? Let’s spice it up a little and make cliche look a little more extraordinary.
My go-to festive look is OVER THE TOP. Always.
I fell in love with this combination of the sequin dress layered with a feather skirt underneath. I did not wanted to keep things simple by just adding a hint of red lipstick to finish the look in a very chic manner, I wanted giant curls and a glittery kimono to top it all off. This would be perfect for a holiday party you’re planning to attend, or even a family photo-op that ends up on your mom’s Christmas card, because, let me tell you, you will be at the centre of attention.
It’s pretty, not so simple, but still super chic!
Nothing says happy holidays (or even Happy New Year), like black paired with metallics! I had my eye on this kimono for a while online on River Island, and finally caved in when going to London last year. I think it was THE best purchase I have ever made. It comes in handy at every opportunity and it just makes you look super glam.
I feel like many would be afraid to pull off such an over the top look, but I dare you not to be one of them. Be ballsy and make your mark!
